Mada si u pravu što se tiče ozbiljnosti.  Većini stvari se ranije pristupalo znatno ozbiljnije, pa su i rezultati bili ozbiljniji.

 2018 Heinlein Award


Neal Stephenson is the winner of the 2018 Robert A. Heinlein Award, given for “outstanding published works in science fiction and technical writings that inspire the human exploration of space,” recognizing his body of work, including 15 novels and many non-fiction articles.

The winner was chosen by a committee of SF authors chaired by Michael F. Flynn, and will receive a plaque, a sterling silver medallion, and two lapel pins, all featuring the likeness of Robert A. Heinlein. The award will be presented May 25, 2018 at the Renaissance Harborplace Hotel in Baltimore MD during the opening ceremonies of Balticon 52.

The Kitschies, the annual tentacle-themed prize for works containing elements of the “speculative and fantastic,” have announced the winners for the most “progressive, intelligent, and entertaining” fiction of 2017.


The hand-crafted tentacle trophies were awarded at a ceremony held at London’s Star of Kings on April 9. The winners included a science fiction tale in a future of mercenaries and interstellar monopolies; the tale of sisters reunited and the struggle to believe memories over reality; and an epic narrative following three generations of beekeepers from the past, present, and future.
